Oil-only sorbents

These hydrophobic and oleophilic sorbents repel water and absorb only non-polar fluids. Due to this character they are well applicable in anhydrous as well as aqueous media. They float on the water, do not sink even when fully saturated with oil, therefore they are suited to skim oil spills from the surface of the water. Outdoor application is cost effective even in rainy weather, since they absorb only oil, so rainwater does not load their capacity.
